With an hour left, I want to finish off by highlighting some of the positives of #cycling:
The number of people cycling to work increased by 43% between 2011 and 2016.

In Dublin, various traffic counts show massive growth in everyday cycling (commuting, shopping etc) over the past decade.

Our own recent survey with @dublincycling has shown that there are as many bicycles travelling down the Liffey Quays in the morning rush hour as there are motor vehicles

Leisure cycling has also taken off in a huge way, as can be shown by membership numbers with @IreCyclingFed.

And cycling advocacy groups are also growing and thriving, with dedicated people all over the country: @Cyclistie @IrishCycle @SafeCyclingEire @nigreenways @dublincycling @IBIKEDublin @CorkCyclingCrew @GalwayCycling @LimerickCycling @BikeWaterford @SligoCycling @MaynoothCycling

So the future of cycling is really bright with more and more people seeing the benefits and taking to their bikes in bigger and bigger numbers.
