@DExEUgov and @SteveBakerHW who has also gone was the man overseeing No Deal planning through multiple gantt charts...and would have taken the legislation through..
@DExEUgov @SteveBakerHW easiest way forward for PM might be to merge the negotiations team in @DExEUgov into Europe Unit in CO ..and put Lidington over the top of Brexit planning as SoS combined with current job.

my suggestion to help the PM - EU agrees to set up a working group of technical experts as soon as WA passed to investigate and make recommendations on "technological and facilitative arrangements"
can include any experts nominated by the UK (so all the ERG's favourite experts) and reps from HMRC and Defra and Irish authorities + EU experts.
set a deadline to report by October 2019 so can be fed into the discussions on the long-run future relationship... and have it chaired by a neutral. Both sides agree to consider conclusions carefully as part of "best endeavours"

Interesting bits from the Prime Minister’s #Brexit letter …bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politi…. The absolute primacy of ending free movement as the driver of the Referendum result- perhaps the one Leave argument she personally buys..
But ending FOM for EU citizens also removes it from UK citizens. PM does not mention that.
Second the stress on the benefits of ending vast annual payments.. But she knows that direct savings will not be huge as we take over programmes (CAP, replacement structural funds), incur costs of setting up own agencies

1) Yesterday there was a shooting at a bar in Cali that just so happens to be called BORDERLINE..
2) We heard initial reports the man was middle eastern looking with a full beard and that story quickly changed to an ex Marine, who appeared clean cut. Picture on the left is an old photo, picture on the right was from his recent social media account...which was scrubbed ASAP
3) Alleged eye witness describing shooter as man on the right. I believe he was a Muslin convert. Slide 4 shows another interview saying the exact same thing.

Here's a brief thread on where we're at with Brexit:
My understanding is that @MichelBarnier will NOT produce a draft on the Political Declaration on Wed as had been expected. At the very most it'll be an annotated paper (headings, no text) and even then it won't be adopted Wed
This is all due to the "tunnel" factor, ie things being so sensitive ahead of next weeks EU summit that all sides go into a blackout to avoid leaks + eruptions. The next step is the UK's backstop proposals but even that will be teased out in talks rather than formal publication
Both the EU + UK may decide to try and nail down the Withdrawal Agreement first, then focus on the Political Declaration between the Oct + Nov summits, but that has an obvious disadvantage for the UK...

Last week had sold the Aug Bnf 25500/28000 Strangle for 261. If it continues up will have to consider an adjustment. Moving CE up 300 will cost 90. Question is whether to move 25500 to 26000 to save 38 or to leave it alone and put more Capital and sell 26kPE to generate 82
Oddly enough because the Premium received was so rich, the positive is still mildly positive.
Adjusted by buying 1 Bnf Future for my 10 lot position and selling 5 26000PE.

First, the problem, real quick.

EU needs 'backstop' that works in all eventualities, including a breakdown in future relationship talks at the end of transition.

With no border in Ireland, there "must" logically be checks between NI and GB to protect single market. /2
The problem is that puts a *customs* border in the Irish Sea, and the UK government cannot live with that, since it splits up UK.

Theresa May was very hard over on this point in her speech in Belfast. Barnier's Task Force 50 blanched last week when they saw how hard over. /3

This is Hebron in the West Bank.
Hebron is the home of one of Islam's holy sites, the Ibrahimi Mosque.
It also happens to be a Jewish holy site named after Abraham as well.
