2/ #PostcardsToVoters started in March 2017 as a volunteer-based effort to #GOTV for Dem candidates all over the U.S. Every election mattered to them - from local school board to U.S. Senate races. What started as a few thousand volunteers has grown to over 40,000 in < 2yrs.
3/ Can they organize a large GOTV postcard effort for a statewide federal election? YES THEY CAN! A year ago, I helped with the #PostcardToVoters effort to elect Doug Jones in the #ALSen race. The P2V team wrote over 350,000 postcards to remind Dems to VOTE!

An estimated 10,000 automated accounts that were posting tweets discouraging people from taking part in mid-term election.
Most of the accounts were posing as Democrats.
They were taken down late Sep, early Oct.

The Tweets included ones that discouraged Democratic men from voting, saying that would drown out the voice of women, according to 2 of the sources familiar with the flagging operation.

The removals represent early win for a fledgling effort by Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee @dccc a party group that supports Democrats running for U.S. House of Representatives

Being a part of this #postcardstovoters movement I've witnessed an incredible wave of Goodwill and support from other hopeful people who still believe in Democracy and the power of putting a pen to paper. I have been filled with heart filled optimism. #BlueWave

I’m gonna demystify some terms: Get Out the Vote means volunteers (like us) go and remind people who support our candidate to vote. It’s not debating with GOP voters who hate us, it’s reminding supporters & those likely to support. It’s the only way we win. Knock doors. (1)
Folks psych themselves out of volunteering imagining it’s some big scary thing. It’s actually friendly. If you have social anxiety to the point where it’s triggering to talk to strangers, or you have limited mobility, there are other great ways to help like texting voters (2)
