Here's one way it's tougher for US. workers than workers in other major industrial nations. Americans average 1,780 hours of work per year. Japanese workers 1,710, Canadian 1,695, British 1,681, French 1,514 & German 1,356 hours. British workers average 2 1/2 weeks less than U.S.
French workers average 6 1/2 full-time weeks less of work per year than American workers. And German workers average more than 10 full-time weeks less of work than American workers.
