SO, since I'm trying to break into astrology twitter (and I've had bourbon), let me tell you what I'm working on. I've been working on an app that will match people according to compatibility, astrological timing, "fate", and more. BUT, it's gotten especially interesting...
...because I've realized that timing is not just incredibly important for relationships--it's also much more codifiable than natal/synastry charts. Programmatically speaking, it's really easy to look at progressions/transits/solar arcs and extract the themes from a set of charts.
So I'm working on seeing if I can build a forecasting system that can tell you things _specifically_ like, prepare for successful endeavors at this time, be careful of car accidents here, your partner is probably pissy today. Using both Hellenistic and modern methods.
I've already seen fascinating results from it, as well as my minimal chart analysis work. It's great to be able to ask my system, "Who in my database has a Mercury/Venus conjunction?" and then see. In the future, I want to generate visualizations of the data.
Visualizations that span people and can provide stronger statistical pointers to correlations between astrological configurations and people's behaviors/attributes. On top of that, it's also _excellent_ just for teaching myself more about astrology and grappling it hands on.
I also have a theory that you can probably judge the success of an endeavor by looking at the transits/progressions of everyone involved. Big spike in Jupiter aspects indicating windfall? Probably a highly successful company.
The long term goal, of course, is statistical data and a service that can actually help you plan your days (and dates). There are so many things we do that we arbitrarily do _whenever_, when they might go much more swimmingly if we arbitrarily did them at good times and dates.
So why the hell not? Anyway, once I have this working, I'm going to try and have it push decisions to me, not the other way, for those things that are convenient enough to do _whenever_. What was once extremely manual and laborious can become automated and user-friendly.
Of course, most importantly--for the layperson! Anyhow, exciting stuff. Another #astrology update in a couple of months, probably.
