Thread: 1/ I checked out the Tesla store in Las Vegas today. I did a quick drive through two days ago but wanted to come back when it was closed to get a better look around. It was pretty cloudy so pictures kinda suck. On Friday the front parking lot was packed full of M3s.
2/ Today, it looks like they had all been moved to the rear of the building, and there were several empty parking spaces up front. There were 8 M3s out front, 15 in the back, and 2 by the service bay doors. Not all are pictured here. I was in an unfortunate rush.
3/ Only 1 or 2 of these cars looked ready for pickup, which were hooked up to the chargers. Most still had tape on the windshields/roofs, all the clear plastic on the interior, etc. Horrible panel gaps on all. 95% of the cars in back had stickers indicating mfgr in 07/18.
4/ There was even an infamous "FACTORY GATED - GA4" tent car. This was one of the roughest looking cars on the lot. I feel bad for whoever gets this pile. Sorry again about all the cloud cover/glare.
5/ Another observation was the cars in service that I could tell had been there for a while. When you see this amount of rust on the rotors, that means the car has been sitting for months. This was especially true on the Model Xs there. Most had an orange "H" sign, some did not.
6/ But there were several MX and MS cars with the sign and most had heavy rust on the rotors. Another observation is that the there were techs working on cars. Lights were on in the shop and I saw people working. Didn't want to take pics of them since that's not cool in my book.
I saw a couple employees occasionally walk through the store area even though all the lights were off up front. Anyways, it's not a great sign when your techs are so busy they have to work at 7pm on a Sunday.
Further observations: These cars are freaking loud. As I walked around the lot I kept hearing either the cooling or HVAC fans turning on and off, nonstop, on M3s. It was about 100*F today. I imagine it's the source of the battery drain complaints. It was a little freakish.
Also, the paint quality on these vehicles is very sub-par. On a higher end car you can usually expect paint that looks like flawless, smooth glass. Most of these had mild orange peel. Yuck. Basically, the paint quality you'd see on a Hyundai.
I'll be doing this more in the future. I don't really have an excuse not to, since the store is pretty close to where I live. @TeslaCharts @ElonBachman @MontanaSkeptic1 @WintonCapPtnrs @cppinvest @IsTeslaWorth0 @skabooshka @markbspiegel
