It's very possible that one can have an opinion on nearly everything they see online. But I think it's wise to not share every opinion you have. There's having an opinion about something, but there's also occasionally sitting back to listen to and read other people's opinions.
Sometimes you see something that is just begging for a response but you just smile and move on - feeling a little cheated that you haven't shared your 'brilliant' opinion, but smiling all the same because, well, you have avoided a worthless fight online. Breathe in and out.
Other times you see something horribly amiss and you want to rectify it then you remember you're not the Chief Rectifier of Things. And you're not even paid to correct people. So you leave that for those who have a bit of time and perhaps can entertain a bit of BS. Drink water.
Every once in a while you weigh in with your opinion on a subject that is perhaps close to your heart or you feel very conversant with. But even then, you put a lid over your emotions because some folks online will just yank your soul out with insensitivity & vexation. Smile.
I see some of my friends involved in bitter arguments and I'm like, I know this dude/girl, they aren't angry in real life. They're happy and convivial. Why are they so bitter online? And then I realise they're so emotionally invested in an argument. And you feel sad for them.
Sometimes you want to hug them and say, look, the person you are bitterly arguing with is probably just grinning and enjoying this because they thrive on riling people up. They know they're wrong but they'll not admit it - not now, not ever. Just let it go. Live your life.
Sometimes you send them a private message to calm them. Other times you just say a prayer for them since you're not a Keeper of People's Sanity or Custodian of Emotions. So you let them tear each other apart and you're like... I'll be over here watching cat videos on YouTube 🐱
All I'm saying is you can't win every argument. Whatever you do, always look after your sanity before wasting it on strangers online. You don't owe anyone anything.

Thank you for coming to my TED talks. Drinks & snacks are at the back of the hall. Pick a flyer on the way out 😉
