BREAKING: While agreeing that climate change is caused by burning fossil fuels, a federal judge dismisses New York City’s climate change suit against oil giants.

The ruling echoes a similar finding in California.

"Global warming and solutions thereto must be addressed by the two other branches of government," U.S. District Judge John Keenan said, punting the climate crisis to Trump and the GOP-dominated legislature.

A key passage in the ruling, acknowledging Trump's intent to pull out of the Paris climate accords and falling back on the same separation of powers issues that have scared off his West Coast colleague.
“Climate change is a fact of life, as is not contested by defendants,” the judge wrote. “But the serious problems caused thereby are not for the judiciary to ameliorate."
