Suspended NUS Trans Officer Jess Bradley has instructed libel lawyers Carter Ruck who are using BBC/Cliff Richard’s privacy case (!) to try to silence media reporting on the suspension. Hilarious, were the whole thing not so deeply disturbing.

I’ve seen the blog posts, alleged to be re/posted by Jess Bradley, on archive.is. Understandable why the Mail reported lightly, but the alleged posts are far worse than reported. Thread about that here: twitter.com/xnomoresilence

And Jess Bradley’s statement doesn’t even deny the allegations - it says “I am confident that none of my behaviour has been unlawful”.
The Sun caved. Perhaps to demonstrate the chilling effect of the Cliff Richard case - but there really are few parallels here. The papers are just reporting that a public union figure has been suspended.

The OP has disappeared. ICYMI the blog in question appeared to contain not only indecent exposure but incitement to indecent exposure (e.g in changing rooms) & reposts of imagery glorifying rape, sexual assaults, incest & a prevalence of paedophilia.

In April 2018, the Union I&B Ministry floated a tender to contract an agency to monitor social media posts of citizens, including their "emails" and "historical communications", to gauge their opinions about government policies, and create "360-degree view of people." (2/n)

My company was raided. It should have been a straightforward matter. But the #MetPolice & #LBRUT forgot to seize my computer & came back to do a 2nd raid. The search warrant didn't permit a second entry, however, #LBRUT entered unlawfully

Complaints were then made to my MP #VinceCable. He liaised with the #Metpolice & #LBRUT. And then weeks later, the search warrant was completely changed & was passed off as the search warrant executed on the day of the raids.

Morning campers! I’ll be live-tweeting from the European Court of Justice today about @Google’s “Right to be Forgotten” hearing.

What’s the main point? Should Europe (or France’s #privacy regulator) be able to apply its rules over the internet worldwide.

A recap:
La Vanguardia, a Spanish newspaper, published records in the late 1990s detailing the debt delinquencies of Mario Costeja.

About a decade later, Costeja sued, saying that the publication breached his right to privacy.
After a lengthy legal dispute, the case was referred to the ECJ which, in 2014, ruled that individuals had the right to ask that search engines like @Google remove links (but not the underlying webpages) from search results
