List of things Bezos-related continue to shock me aren’t known by 90% of of investors instead of 10%:

1. He was a Wall Street guy. To say doesn’t care about making $...
2. He was an early investor in GOOG personally. Even in their early days Bezos was already a legend.
3. EBAY ate their lunch early days - this was never a sure thing. He poached WMT ppl and copied COST business model - he’s not 100% maverick
4. They still own assets like IMDB they don’t monetize. They had a project called A3 that was a google competitor years ago he gave up on
5. you read anything about amzn or talk to their people and it’s a miserable place relative to fb/goog. Bezos is way more similar to a Ray Dalio than he is to other FANG CEOs
6. His stock sell plan is autopilot effectively $1B a year, he has no control over timing and price.

#THREAD: WHAT TRUMP'S EXECUTIVE ORDER DOES...AND DOESN'T DO.

Trump begrudgingly "caved" due to the backlash.

But, as it was all about holding the children hostage to get his demands...the order still pressures Congress to act quickly to avert the problems it delays and creates.
1. KEEPS FAMILIES TOGETHER...WITH BIG CAVEATS.

While the DOJ will continue to prosecute ALL adults crossing the border illegally, it keeps families together but only "where appropriate and consistent with law and available resources."

Leaves flexibility.
2. KEEPS FAMILIES W/ DHS.

Parents can stay with their children in detention with DHS, but the catch is only to the "extent permitted by law and subject to the availability of appropriations."

BIG CAVEAT...THE FLORES AGREEMENT PREVENTS CHILDREN FROM BEING DETAINED AFTER 20 DAYS.

Perkins Coie was the firm that commissioned the Trump Russia dossier via fusion GPS.

There are a lot of prominent people, who claim to be principled anti-war activists, who led us to believe that Hillary was the *real* threat, that should be absolutely ashamed to show their faces right now. Yet they're all pretending like it never happened.
None of this is surprising if you were paying attention & weren't looking to confirm your biases that #actually Trump might not be so bad (not as bad as Killary). Most of us saw the threat in real time & called it out. It wasn't subtle.
It's just so incredibly frustrating bc it was all so predictable. You demanded that every journalist & pundit who predicted the election results incorrectly be disgraced; yet this was infinitely more consequential. And yet, you've taken zero responsibility for your actions.
