Resolution of Fred Machado: Portuguese immigrant, dairyman with Danish Creamy and led Supervisors Brian Pacheco to get involved in politics via Farm Bureau. Other than JFK ,Pacheco is only Democrat Machado votes for. He passed away July 9th. Borgeas said Machado thought he was
Portuguese. When Borgeas said he was actually Greek ,Machado paused and said if you can’t be Portuguese Greek is the next best thing. Quintero said Machado told him the next best thing was Mexican 😝
H. Spees representing Lee Brand on Homelessness in Fresno Co. “Street to Home” Plan will be rolled out soon. Largest drop in homelessness on the West Coast. However plateaued. Joint Powers Authority Between County/ City. Diversion can stop homelessness by 40%. Improved Crisis
Permanent Housing with Landlord Engagement team. Housing with support for Mental Health needs. Joint Power Authority will use Big 11 funding resources ($15 million) to launch. Engage Cross-sector community leaders as well. Borgeas says Anti-Camping Ordinance by City was done

Social Services to be involved as they are more qualified as the Supervisors. Spees says this is built for Fresno and won’t be cookie cutter. @BuddySupervisor says he isn’t a fan of Joint Powers. Says every unincorporated areas have homeless. Quintero says Mayor Brand wanted
a co-chair. Does Supervisors want Quintero or others? Mendes doesn’t want it that way but will have CAO. Magsig says eventually one of Supervisors need to go as well. Quintero says lots of homelessness is in his district so will continue to be involved. Pacheco wants to know what

Going to unscheduled Public Communication first before ICE item . SEIU up first. Advocating for in home supportive care. Many of these workers are living in poverty themselves. Leads to lots of turnover which is hard on their care receivers. Better use of funds by keeping care
receivers out of more expensive care facilities. Care givers often have to provide supplies from own funds. Danilel O’ Connell speaks on behalf of care workers in receiving living wages.
Sheriff Mims speaking. Says her office is in compliance with SB 54. Deputies will not enforce immigration status or Country of origins. U- Visa are available to protect immigrants of domestic violence and human trafficking. 200 issued in past few years. Follows Truth Acts too.
