Even “chipping away” at #RoevWade means deeply egregious restrictions on real rights, & enduring damage to real lives—especially women least able to afford or access care.
Ask the women of TX or those living in 22 states (not all red) about laws deterring & limiting access to abortions. With Kavanaugh’s appointment, the ‘Most Likely’ option = severe restrictions & free license for more states to follow.
Every outcome on abortion with Kavanaugh on #SCOTUS would result in women’s health & rights being fundamentally undermined. Call your Senator & share your story. #WhatsAtStake

Because of the #TrumpShutdown, 800,000 workers are not getting paid, but senior officials are receiving a raise? Utterly unfair & another insult to the hardworking men & women currently working w/out pay & forced to make substantial sacrifices while the gov't is closed.
Accepting these raises makes clear these “leaders” fail a basic tenet of leadership—putting what’s best for the group above one’s own self interests.
I will be donating my pay to Homes For The Brave until the shutdown is done. What will top Trump officials do with theirs?

Unacceptably missed deadlines! Lifesaving railroad technology—Positive Train Control—still lacking on almost all rail lines, despite Dec 31 deadline. FRA must hold them accountable with $27,904 per day fines if necessary.
Metro North's failure to meet the deadline for Positive Train Control is absolutely unacceptable. Requested delay to next year seems to put safety at risk, after repeated extensions.
Congress must be clear to rail companies: No more statutory extensions for Positive Train Control deadlines. Stiff fines & other penalties should be imposed for future failures. Rail safety is at stake.

We really need to talk more about #abortion as an option for women.
It's hard to say this and hard to hear it for many, but just because you discover you are pregnant doesn't mean you must carry that pregnancy to term. Your decision will last the rest of your life--and the rest of the life of any child you decide to carry to term.

And no, I am not advocating #abortion.
I'm advocating thinking about parenthood & all it entails.
Because once you have a child, you can't just walk away from that life.
And women/girls are talked into maintaining pregnancies every day.
More discussion would change that.

As a founder, meeting with a VC can be intimidating. It can seem like the VC has all the power, your dream's future at stake.

Yet, it doesn't have to be this way; pitching can be respectful and mutually useful, even if it's a no.

Here's a Simple Guide to Being an Empathetic VC:
1) Offer constructive feedback.

In one of the first meetings for our seed round, a highly-respected seed VC (who passed on us and probably doesn't even remember this) asked what our go-to-market plan was.

We thought for a minute and said "well, I guess build it and sell it?”
Without being disrespectful, he gave us gentle but clear feedback in the moment that our answer wasn't actually a go-to-market plan, and offered a framework for how we might think about one.

Though he doesn't know it, that small kernel of advice took root.
