I have been a socialist longer than I care to recall.
So it grieves me when the British Left (or chunks of it) don't take racism seriously, promote known racists or dismiss concerns about racism.
It is increasingly common.
Typically, adults & sensible people are shocked that they might have, mistakenly, helped a racist gain a wider audience.
But not all.
There is a section of the British Left that don't care if they aid racists.
"You are blocked from following @TomLondon6 and viewing @TomLondon6's"
Tom is v. popular on Twitter with nearly 40,000 followers.
His actions matter, when he says something people listen.
Tom is used as an example by others, quoted as a defence, as a reference.
He admits that.
He is really against antisemitism.
Really against it.
1. #SocialistVoice AKA Scott Nelson
UKIP voter
Odd ideas on "immigrantion"
Expelled from Labour for racism
Rants on about companies having "Jewish blood"
Friendly to Twitter neo-Nazis
Yet #SocialistVoice could never get enough of #IanRMillard's wisdom or chances to agree with him.
Is that opposition to antisemitism? No, certainly not.
Typical Millard material:
Her views would make a UKIP activist blush, she argues
"Theresa May is Yet Another Crypto Jewish Prime Minister"
& Tom likes her.
Her overt racism is documented here antinazisunited.wordpress.com/2017/07/03/ado…
**its a overt neo-Nazi site: splcenter.org/fighting-hate/…
1. Don't downplay ANY form of racism.
2. Don't consort with neo-Nazis or their mates
3. Keep a list of known companions of the Far/Extreme Right
4. Warn your friends to shun/no platform these extremists
5. Avoid false arguments "I'm not racist but..."
