I'm high as balls on meds keeping me from coughing up pieces of my lungs, let's watch Anaconda.
With the rapid advance of global technological systems, satellites, mass communication, and the shrinking of "the frontier" the 90s saw a resurgence of cultural fascination in the "forgotten places" which mostly manifested as a bunch of colonialist BS.
Congo, Krippendorf's Tribe, Jungle 2 Jungle, Outbreak, Medicine Man, and if you want to broaden the definition a bit you can definitely include all the historical dramas like Last of the Mohicans, Dances With Wolves, and Pocahontas.
As this is a movie about the making of a documentary, I'm giving it points for having cameraman Ice Cube using an Aaton A-Minima, classic super-16 camera preferred for remote documentary work.
90s also represents the transitional point in pulp where horror movies went from having gratuitous nudity to instead suggesting tons of nudity in marketing while containing none.
I legitimately love how this movie implies that John Voigt is in league with the snakes.
