THREAD: This weekend, we sent out this open letter to corporations sponsoring Tucker Carlson Tonight. The truth is that, much like Laura Ingraham after her racist comments, Fox will never take him off the air, even with no advertisers. But why should corporations support him?
Here’s the clip of Tucker Carlson on Friday questioning why diversity is our strength.

But to many of the corporations supporting his show, diversity is so important, so why sponsor these messages? We hope they reconsider this moving forward.
.@Allstate, you have a great vision for diversity within your company and your website clearly shows you care. So why sponsor a show that regularly espouses views that are so counter to that?
.@Progressive, your dedication to hiring people of diverse backgrounds is admirable. You have entire departments dedicated to ensuring that. You care about this. How do Tucker Carlson’s views reflect that dedication?
.@Ford, it is clear in this sustainability study that you are working towards a more diverse and inclusive workplace, as you know it can strengthen your business. Perhaps sponsoring a show perhaps doesn’t quite sync up with that message.

.@GSKUS, as your site states, diversity not only “enhances individual creativity and innovation, but makes good business sense.” This video below shows you care. Sponsoring Tucker Carlson’s message that diversity is not our strength seems like a mismatch.
.@subaru_usa, you obviously place a great deal of emphasis on diversity and inclusion, as one of the best places to work for LGBTQ Equality. Congrats. Why then, would you sponsor Tucker Carlson’s show with your ad dollars when he openly questions diversity’s strength?
.@ProcterGamble, you have taken a huge lead in diversity, being named the 13th best company for diversity by @DiversityInc. That’s incredible. Advertising with Tucker Carlson, who openly questions if diversity is a good thing, though, seems to send a different message.
.@Expedia, as a leader in gender equality in the workplace, sponsoring Tucker Carlson Tonight, which seems to espouse views that inclusion is not actually an inherent good is somewhat inconsistent. egencia.com/public/uk/2017…
It is tough for corporations to know exactly what the shows that they sponsor are saying every night, but this is a pattern that has been repeated over and over again. Mr. Carlson’s views are shared with white supremacists and he’s endorsed by them for a reason.
We hope that these corporations, and others, realize that these messages are inconsistent with the diversity and inclusion that not only makes their companies and staffs stronger, but their country as well.
Mr. Carlson will still be allowed by his network to broadcast every night. His job and his views are in no way at risk of going away. For it to be a massively profitable enterprise, though, being paid for by corporations who believe in the value of diversity, seems wrong.
