9. Advice professionals invest at least 30 hours (as accountants do) in their continuing education, and if you have a CFP you can make that 40 hours. That number increases by an additional 40 for if you have TASA and Credit authorities. So that's 80 hours.
10. What I am not ok with is #FASEA prescribing that after 20 years of experience, a degree, postgraduate study, professional honours, happy clients and a successful business if we don't get a 65% pass mark we will lose our license to operate.
11. Imagine that you are an accountant, lawyer or medical practitioner, and because of poor behaviour of some of your peers you now need to go back to school and could very well lose your business at the stroke of a pen.
12. What research has been undertaken to determine that an examination will lead to better advice outcomes for clients? Isn't that why we are here, to ensure better and more consistent client outcomes? How does that work @IFA_AU @planner_tweets @moneymanage?
13. @ScottMorrisonMP @KellyODwyer @ZedSeselja when consumers are now protected by the #FOFA provisions, on what logical basis can #FASEA force existing advisers to risk their livelihood and business through the sitting of an exam?
14. Experience, success stories, happy clients and the employment of thousands upon thousands of Australians is a great thing @ScottMorrisonMP @KellyODwyer @ZedSeselja and shouldn't be jeopardised as it will by #FASEA's hardline stance.
15. In our practice, the three principals have >50 years experience, degrees, postgraduate studies, professional honours, happy clients and a successful business. We now need to do an exam, and if we don't hit 65%, the business fails & our staff lose their jobs @ScottMorrisonMP.
16. Thank you for reading, please retweet anything you like and accept my most sincere apologies for any grammatical errors.
