iPhone Xr -- the more expensive but cheapest of the new iPhones launched today! shud be a runaway hit for those upgraders waiting in the wings for a cheaper full-display iPhone w/ Face ID.

So iPhone 8 Plus doesn't gets an axe , increases the choices but also makes it a bit difficult for consumers :)

Last time Apple added multiple colors to a model : iPhone 5c, it was a dud. But not maybe this time.

Apple iPhone Xr is in the right "psychological" iPhone price range with nearly key bells and whistles for upgraders. See our prediction:

Talking about eSIM in Apple iPhone Xs series:

1/

✅Great addition for flexibility to choose roaming country carrier
✅However, since eSIM is controlled by Apple and its partnerships, the flexibility of buying SIM with cheapest bundle at airport wont be available

2/ eSIM in iPhone Xs series:

✅Still not clear how it will work within the same country e.g. US, JP core iPHone markets where traditionally SKUs are different for carriers
✅Maybe with just one Intel modem, Apple may have same SKU across all US carriers

3/ eSIM in iPhone Xs series

✅eSIm in iPhones will come at cost -- its not going to be that open, will be well negotiated be Apple-carriers
✅Apple will make sure it gets cut for every new plan activated on iPhone via eSIM which could make plan expensive than buying physically

4/ eSIM in iPhone Xs series

✅One thing is sure, Apple is going to rake in good $$ from eSIM - operator partnership revenues :)
✅Time will tell if affluent Apple users are okay to pay more via Apple eSIM service for extra convenience, I think convenience will trump!!

While ECG is revolutionary feature in S4, but the ECG app is coming to USA only.

Must be the FDA type regulations in other countries are not yet cleared for the watch. Could be a major disappointment for many, though clarification needed on timeline and availability.

While USA is the only country to get the ECG app, as @chrissyfarr points out it is still in FDA approved stage and not cleared, big difference.

Hope Apple gets Watch 4 and ECG app cleared, would speak volume to become a medical grade device.
