In all regards, the American healthcare system is a total disaster. Education, preventable efforts, reactive treatment. All of it. Broken.
We’re not taught to know our bodies, to keep an eye on our wellbeing. We’re not really taught how to eat or exercise or even listen to our bodies. There are cursory efforts, but they’re meaningless in a country subservient to corporations profiting off of our suffering.
We’re taught to avoid going to see a doctor. It’s too expensive, they’re too incentivized to prescribe drugs or dish out treatments. It’s a black hole and so Americans avoid screenings and let treatable conditions worsen.
By the time those preventable treatments worsen, we’re IN the system and subject to exorbitant prices that even the best healthcare plans won’t cover because they’re all designed to help companies over patients.
Meanwhile, those charges with serving our interests, our representatives, are all in bed with the pharma giants and the insurance companies. Any improvement is avoided, and our sicknesses are juiced for maximum profit.
It’s an abysmal embarrassment. To live in the world’s foremost power and let this rigged game continue is a shame that will reverberate for generations to come.
