Report chair Professor Alan Manning: "Overall the impacts [of EEA migration] have been modest and one needs to have a sense of perspective."
"EEA migration had not had the big costs that some people claim - but neither has it had the big benefits."
And he says that the fall in the value of the pound after the Brexit referendum vote had more impact on British citizens (rising prices etc) than all European migration since Eastern/Central European nations joined the EU in 2004.

Very interesting development this morning at the High Court. A woman who blew millions in Harrods - money suspected to have been corruptly acquired from abroad - has lost an attempt to stop the UK's first Unexplained Wealth Order.
It's a new tool used by the @NCA_UK to target suspected corrupt foreign nationals who are believed to be stashing cash in the UK - particularly by buying property in London and surrounding counties.
"Mrs A" now has seen days to try to persuade the Court of Appeal that she should remain anonymous and to reconsider the wider case against her. In the meantime - here's what we know so far about her spending... bbc.co.uk/news/world-449…

I'm going to retweet the crucial evidential pictures of the #Salisbury suspects in the correct chronological order, with some maps. It shows how quickly the suspects struck and left the city. Here's the thread:
1) Arrival in Salisbury. "Petrov" and "Boshirov" take a train to Salisbury on Sunday 4 March - after carrying out recon the day before. Here they are at Salisbury station at 11.48am. They are about a mile or so from Mr Skripal's home:
2) Ten minutes later, they're filmed on a petrol station CCTV on Wilton Road. Police say this was on the way to the attack. This makes sense if you consider the direction they are walking and their proximity to Mr Skripal's home:

A thread on the problems of No Deal and its friends WTO and FTA.

I'll be neutral, simple and logical and to avoid fake news and stay objective, I'll quote data.

Brexit often skips the awkward details to sell a dream. I don't want to do that so call me if I miss stuff.
Definitions.

No Deal and WTO - same thing. One is the plan, the other is the result. In other words crashing out of the EU with nothing agreed and relying on "WTO" terms.

The Free Trade Arrangement assumes no tarrifs on either side and otherwise no agreeement crashing out.
Many areas are so complicated that it's hard to simplify. Trade, for example, is about 100 issues, not one.

So I'll do the simple stuff then add more in answer to questions.

Also many No deal problems could be solved. If you had 15 years...and a plan

#1: Norwegians eat their sandwiches like this, with no bread on top
They have special paper to stop toppings falling off when carried around
#2: Norway is a relatively young country, only achieving true independence in 1905. This is why Norwegians tend to be deeply patriotic.
