While we're sharing art, in 1620 Artemesia Gentileschi painted herself as the biblical Judith beheading Holofernes, except Gentileschi in her work is decapitating her own real-life rapist, Agostini Tassi.
Gentileschi also painted two other versions of the scene, in which the two women move to dispose of her assaulter's decapitated head.
Gentileschi's father, Orazio, also painted one.
All of these paintings have Caravaggio's version of "Judith Slaying Holofernes" behind them.

Caravaggio drew inspiration (and details of gore) from witnessing the massively protested public execution of Beatrice Cenci, who had bludgeoned her own rapist to death with a hammer.
Beatrice Cenci (whom the Pope brutally and hastily executed despite massive outcry) became an icon of protest against the aristocracy's flagrant abuses of women and the poor.

To this day she appears on Sant'Angelo bridge where she was killed, holding her severed head.
bonus: Klimt's version of Judith with Holofernes's head.

Klimt had his brother make the frame labelling it so critics would stop mis-identifying as Salome - this is an exultant hero, not a femme fatale.
