I’m a believer that every person who *can* vote should vote, but any conversation about the need for ppl to vote that doesn’t take into account active voter suppression & structural impediments that preclude certain groups from access to the polls is not an honest conversation.
Black voters are being purged from rolls in GA, Native American voters in ND have been told their tribal IDs aren’t valid, voters in NC have been disenfranchised “with surgical precision.”
We should absolutely encourage people to vote, but we should also remember why some can’t.

One last thing, it’s worth remembering that while voting is *incredibly* important, it is only one way that ppl participate in the political process.
