I don't think we've ever made Russia this mad at Bellingcat, even with 4 years of MH17 and Syria reporting. Tells you a lot about the problems we've caused them with our Skripal work. Never seen them look so weak or emotional at such a high level.
Assuming this is for a Russian audience I guess they assume we're already so well known that having senior members of the Russian government attack us won't actually inadvertently promote Bellingcat to the wider Russian public who hadn't heard of us and decide to look us up.
I just can't see how this is a smart strategy, unless they actually genuinely believe what they're saying is true, and at some point someone will present evidence to support their claim. And if they believe it then there's some serious intel problems at the Kremlin.
