It's not like my opinion of the Labour party in this country was particularly high to begin with, but today has been something else. They have complete contempt for the electorate, the truth, and the working classes they pretend to represent.
You've got GCC Labour cllrs who were part of the council leadership and played their part in shafting low-paid female workers suddenly tweeting and retweeting messages of "solidarity" with the people they spent years completely shafting.
You've got the SLab leader - a former full-time GMB official - frantically jumping on the bandwagon and slagging the SNP for a situation his former employers were 100% actively supporting while he worked for them. And are now being sued for their role in that.
You've got Labour MPs marching with the strikers, interviewed on camera and conveniently forgetting they're a Labour MP even when they're asked about Labour's role in this national disgrace, even having the sheer brass neck to blame "SNP cuts" for his pals' institutional misogyny
You've got Labour-led GMB - who help shaft working-class women in the first place - reneging on agreements to provide life and limb cover to some of the most vulnerable people in society during the strike period.
The only people to come out of today with any dignity are the strikers and the GCC leadership. The right-wing reactionary hacks that seemingly make up most of the Labour Party in this part of the world nowadays are destroying their own party bit by bit. Hell mend them.
