@tarishi_sharma This is a simplistic metric for how the privileged protect their interests in electoral democracies, since privilege is only partially derived from economic status. The demographic composition of leadership is another important measure.
@tarishi_sharma A party whose three leadership positions are filled by upper caste males, for example, would have to address that in the broader leadership base, but a PAC with 7/8 male members, and a National Executive with 18/24 men (all 24 upper caste) does not speak to any such reflexivity.
@tarishi_sharma Also, a party which forms Minority/SC/ST wings 6 years post-formation, and that too alongside (and therefore seemingly equivalent to) socially far less significant categories such as 'Senior Citizen', spells out its lack of political interest in reformulating social hierarchy.
@tarishi_sharma This is not to say anything of regionality, where a party with frequent attempts at being national, only has North Indians in leadership, and recently went as far as to indulge their regional chauvinism by creating a "South Indian" wing where other states get specific names.
@tarishi_sharma To be clear, apart from mostly supporting their current platform, I remain optimistic about the potential for good politics that the AAP retains, but this air of martyred superiority over being underfunded is rather hard to swallow when other inequalities are clearly reinforced.
