Steady increase in the DTF (Distance To Frontier) score since 2017 means that the country has embarked on some reforms. Nigeria has also witnessed improved ranking from 169 in 2017 to 145 in 2018 and 146 in the latest report
So despite a higher DTF score in 2019, Nigeria's ranking worsened. Why is this?
One way of explaining this is that other countries are embarking on more reforms than Nigeria thus overtaking the country in terms of ranking.

The question we should be asking is if the present Government is doing enough to make things work. Every Government (whether PDP or APC) has done something but have they all done enough to make Nigeria stand tall in the comity of Nations? The answer is NO.
In my view, we are only doing things to get by and I am really scared about the future of Nigeria. We will be so overtaken by the smaller countries that if we are not careful, Nigeria being referred to as Third world nation will be an insult to the Real Third World nations.
