re: last RT One thing I try to emphasize in classes on Nazi Germany and the Holocaust was how the economic benefits provided by the Nazis were almost exclusively the result of a genocidal ponzi scheme of racial oppression, dispossession, and conquest.
The idea of a Nazi economic utopia was also a scheme to fleece the average German - thousands of Germans paid monthly installments to get a car from the Nazi-founded Volkswagen and guess how many were delivered? Zero. The money just got poured into the war effort.
Fascism and Nazism did not have a miracle solution to the depression and rising inequality beyond countercyclical government spending, renouncing debt payments (Nazis walked away from a bailout and restructuring of its war reparations by US banks) and then, murder and theft.
One of the reasons the Nazis kept declaring war before they had managed to finish their last ones was to keep the machine of plunder going in order to maintain domestic popularity. Which worked. Until Germany started to lose and the population started getting bombed themselves.
The Nazis were frauds on their own damn terms - they wrecked their country, saw it flattened by mass bombing, it was invaded, occupied, divided and large portions were annexed. Nazism provided nothing of value even to Nazis who, at best, had to flee to live underground abroad.
