Two things I'm holding right now:
1. The very real possibility that the GOP will retain both houses of Congress & critical statehouses tomorrow
2. Gratitude for the heart and hope and sheer joy visible in so many campaigns across the country

Watch John Lewis dancing last Thursday—and everyone in the room dancing along with him.

...and I guess it's no surprise that there'd be joy when Barack Obama shows up by surprise at your campaign event with a big box of donuts.
We could lose tomorrow. We could win tomorrow. Most likely it'll be a huge mix of both—tough losses and dazzling victories. So many people were shocked by 2016; this time, let nothing shock you. But remember that you have power. Use it joyfully.

2) Going into the game the Democrats were riding their #BlueWave of enthusiasm. They were so confident America was tired of all the lies and sordid behavior of Coach Trump that the Democrats could win the game easily.

It is no surprise Twitter targets accounts for “wrong think” or as we on the #Right like to call it “free-think” this is because of two events which are now totally and utterly inextricably linked, #Brexit and #Trump and the Establishment have been rocked to the core. 2/15
Neither of which were supposed to happen & yet they did now the Establishment is determined never to allow it to happen again or even at all, the reason for them happening was nothing to do with social media, but was to do with people knocking on doors and persuading others. 3/15

I have been battling a new health crisis since my surgery was postponed June 15.

There is no way to adequately articulate--even as a writer--the breadth of hardship inflicted on sick Americans by the Trump presidency & Trump-led #GOP, like lame-duck @SpeakerRyan.

The @CDCgov cites 133M as the number of chronically-ill Americans who have #cancer, like I do, or another illness that impedes their daily lives.

The majority of that 40% of the US population still have to work despite often disabling illness because we cannot afford not to.

I've been writing about #healthcare in America since I was a cub reporter and put on a small story in the mid-80s that turned into a much bigger story: #AIDS.

When you're in your 20s writing about other 20somethings dying, it changes you.

Then I got #breastcancer at 26.

I remember a while back the debate about whether or not we were in a Constitutional crisis. That aside, it is clear we are now at a moment of profound political, social & moral crisis in the US. Two groups w/very different visions of what we should be are confronting each other.
It is unclear, as of now, which will prevail. One, led by the President, controls both houses of Congress and almost two-thirds of the statehouses in America. They have openly embraced racism, nationalism, isolationism, misogyny, corruption & the suppression of the Constitution.
They have attacked our allies, undermined our alliances & int'l institutions, exploited the poorest, served only the very richest, catered to special interests whose greed will destroy the environment and leads to the wholesale murder of children in our schools & on our streets.

This is actually sick behaviour. It’s vile. It’s scraping the barrel of despicable.

To cause such concern & consternation to expectant parents who may have recently received or be about to receive their baby box.

Absolutely wretched, contemptible, loathsome conduct.
I’m absolutely spitting teeth at the very real possibility that young pregnant women may be in distress about their baby box. At a time when they should be full of joy & expectation - they may be enduring an upset, for no valid reason.
No reason other than the party that can find billions for DUP ministers & to bomb Syria setting out to attack the SNP for a laudable universal policy.
