1. Some quick thoughts on the results of the election. As I said numerous times the election came down to turnout. In some states/districts the GOP showed up and in some the Dems did. From the election results in 2017 VA and NJ were going to have high turnout for Dems.
2. Gop had to match it, they failed. So some districts they should have held they didn't, like Bratt's

The Dems redistricting and gerrymandering of PA won them several seats and maybe the house depending on final margin.
3. The razor thin margins of many house districts shows that every vote counts and in a close race 90% of the time the Dems "find" a way to "win" it.
4. The split decision shows that my thought of destructive interference was close to what ended up happening. Two equal and opposite waves cancelling each other out. However some districts/states got hit by the backwash.
5. I felt the house would be a better result & thought the Dems would have a hard row to take the majority. I was right in as far as it being a very hard row to hoe. I was off in my feelings of them being able to sweep. I should have remembered Dems "find" the votes in ties.
6 The win in the senate was bigly. It allows Trump to continue to reshape the judiciary and allows him to get his people into govern. Also it stops all possibility of impeachment. Remember the spending bills signed in the lame duck will be the CR of 2019 and 2020
7. A razor thin amount of voters, way less than the 80,000 margin the Dems say Trump won the WH on, voted for the Dems house. The Dems victory has no mandate. However gridlock will be the rule for the next 2 yrs doubt any bills get passed accept maybe a CR.
8. I would think government shutdown will be the norm going forward as the Dems now try to tank the economy to harm a 2020 Trump run.

9. Gop lost some and won some key governor seats.
10. At the end of the day there isnt much difference between a Ryan led house and a Pelosi led house accept onenof them doesn't need to try to hide their dislike of Trump. About the same level of actual things will get done via bills being passed.
11. Any crazy bill passed by Congress will face a veto that can't be overcome by congress.

Trump trumps a Dem house.
