/ So many Christians have lost their way and they do not realise it. The root of all this starts from literal, non-questioning acceptance of the Bible. The Bible is a human written narration of events, many books written hundreds of years after said events happened.
/ Jesus had a liberal message, and the core of it was this - avoid rituals, do not be greedy for worldly things, and let love for others be your primary driver in this world. This message resonated and was a key reason Christianity became so popular.
/ Core to his message was to use wisdom to spread love and good in the world. He violently attacked those that commercialised religion, or that made the ritual of religion more important than the essence.
/ Many Christian churches now are driven by commerce, they hold on to rituals (e.g offering, songs, being born-again), they mix native Gods in - e.g in healing, prophesy, witchcraft detection. All these are fundamentally unchristian.
/ To be a true Christian, you need to read the message of Jesus. You need to understand the historical context of it (where was he, what was happening then). You need to understood who wrote what book and why. Then you help the world by spreading tolerance and love.
/ that is true Christianity, not bible-quoting, church-going, tithe-paying, born-againing...Christianity is first and foremost about being a good person on this world.
