My Jewish grandfather, along with many thousands others, fled from Iraq, losing property there, as a result of the Farhud (murderous pogrom in 1941).

Please delist all stolen Jewish lands in Iraq.

And Syria. And Egypt, Yemen, Lebanon, Libya, Morroco, Jordan, etc.

We can also get into stolen Jewish land in Gaza, Hebron, Jericho, and Jerusalem, too.

People would do well to remember that it wasn't just in Europe that Jews were refugees - over the ages right up the even the last few years(!) Jews were made to flee their homes across the Middle East.

Jews were massacred and forced out of their homes in the Jewish homeland over the centuries, the Babylonian, Greek and Roman conquests saw many Jews lose their lives and property in Gaza, Judea, Samaria and east Jerusalem... and yet Jews kept coming back.

Over the centuries, Jews were attacked in their homeland in places like Safed, Tiberias and Hebron, decimating communities. Sometimes it took years and decades for a Jewish presence to be restored. Were it not for the repeated slaughters, the West Bank would be full of Jews.

Ultimately, it's important to remember that:

1) Jews have had far, far more land stolen from them than they have stolen from others. Focusing on Jewish crimes alone - real or imagined - is twisted and feeds antisemitism.

2) Jews have a real, ancient connection with Judea and Samaria. Those are the ancient names for what is now known as the West Bank. This is the cradle of our identity, this is our homeland. Saying Jews have no right to live anywhere is racist; there it's a historical injustice.

3) Finally, this is not to say that people can steal land with impunity. If any people have built homes on private land belonging to others, they absolutely deserve to be delisted. Checks should be made - and must be conducted irrespective of race, colour, and nationality.
