Good evening friends, Happy last Sunday in November, this time next week, it's December already... Hurray!
I'm super excited, I don't know about you, not because of what I have but for what I went through and survived.
#ThanksgivingMode
#Audacious
I want you to also think back and see the things that could have killed you, but you survived. Enough of what we have or don't have, enough of the comparison, it is only those alive and sane that can do that.
#Audacious
Today, we want to quickly look at a topic that keep on resonating, and by God's grace, I will try to do good justice to this topic today.

The title of our broadcast today is WRITE IT DOWN
Follow closely...
#WriteItDown
#Audacious
It is a common saying that, "the faintest pen is better than the sharpest brain". That statement is forever valid, and it behoves on is to always #WriteItDown, whatever it is.
#Audacious
See, your memory can fail you at any time and your only saving grace at that time is what you might have written down about the subject matter.
#WriteItDown
#Audacious
If you are the type that just commit things to memory & will never write them down, imagine how many things go through that mind daily, then something deep come as well in the midst of the hustles & you didn't #WriteItDown, you won't be able to catch up when you need to recall
This is mostly the bane of very smart and intelligent folks. You probably need to note that your mind/intellect can not be totally trusted in committing really deep stuffs without having a back up in writing, especially what you are yet to experience.

Our main focus here today is VISION, so this topic can also be called Write the Vision Down.

#WriteItDown

There was a research conducted on some Harvard University graduates way back.
In 1979, interviewers asked new Harvard MBA graduates about their goals.
They found out that 84% of them had no definite goals, none at all.
#WriteItDown
#Audacious
13% had goals but they didn't commit them to writing.
Only 3% had clearcut goals, written out and with it plans they had to execute it.
#WriteItDown
#Audacious
These interviewers traced these people 10 years after to see the outcome.
In 1989, they checked and found out that 13% of the class that had goals but didn't write them down were earning twice as much as those 84% that had no goals at all.
#WriteItDown
#Audacious
However, the staggering thing about the research was that the 3% that had clearcut written down goals earned an average 10 times as much as the 97% put together.

That's Harvard, let me bring in a scriptural perspective into these...

Habakkuk:2.1
I will stand my watch And set myself on the rampart, And watch to see what He will say to me, And what I will answer when I am corrected.

#WriteItDown
#Audacious
It said and what I will answer when I am corrected.
The correction given in this scripture is that this man did not write the vision down the first time, he opted to commit it to memory like many of us do.
Verse 2 tells us what the correction is.

Habakkuk:2.2
Then the LORD answered me and said: "Write the vision And make [it] plain on tablets, That he may run who reads it.

The vision should be written and not committed to memory as seen in the scripture above.
#WriteItDown
#Audacious
Why should the vision be written?
That verse 2 of Habakkuk 2 gives the answer.
The vision should be written, "... that he may run who reads it."

#WriteItDown
#Audacious
When you don't write things down, after some time, you misunderstand and misinterpret what the vision is.
The people may not really understand what you are saying until it is written.

There is something that is called CHINESE WHISPERS.
Gather like 20 people in a place, tell the first person a piece of information and tell that person to communicate same to the next person and on like that until it get to the 20th person
#WriteItDown
#Audacious
You will be shocked at what will be said by the 20th person because the information must have been distorted along the way. This is exactly same as committing things to memory.
#WriteItDown
#Audacious
If you however write this information on a piece of paper and pass it round till it gets to the 20th person, that information is gotten accurately by everyone, all of them will say the same thing because they are reading what was written.
#WriteItDown
#Audacious
The problem is we think we are very smart and intelligent, so can commit those things to memory.
Remember, the faintest pencil is better than the sharpest memory.
#WriteItDown
#Audacious
NOTE: In that Harvard class, the smartest guys might have been among the 84% ,but out of their seeming 'smartness' might have said to themselves, "I don't need to #WriteItDown, I'll always remember".

#Audacious
However, the ones that are not as smart said to themselves, let me just #WriteItDown so I won't forget".

#Audacious
Don't get deceived by your own intelligence, #WriteItDown.

#Audacious
You go for a meeting and you just believe your brain can record and replay everything said in the meeting... You must be joking. In fact, I sometimes see this attitude as PRIDE.

I don't leave home without a good pen in my pocket, you've got to #WriteItDown.

#Audacious
Some people will be in church and that brought no writing materials. They go for a seminar, workshops or training, no writing materials still. That's not being fair to the brain.
#WriteItDown so you will stress the brain less.
#Audacious
When the vision comes to you at first & you commit it to memory, what happen is that you will keep saying it accurately at that time, obviously because it is still fresh. 6 months down, you will be saying something totally different from what you said at the beginning #Audacious
Whatever you write down you can always run with.
#WriteItDown
#Audacious
Sometimes when praying, I just find myself singing a song that is obviously new & self composed under the inspiration of the prayers or worship, but alas, once I get out of the place of prayer, I have forgotten that song. #WriteItDown or record it so you won't forget.
#Audacious
For those who are guilty of this act, be conscious henceforth, carry your writing materials with you. You never can tell what someone will say that you need to write down that will be the change you long long for.
#WriteItDown
#Audacious
Don't be too arrogant to write even if it's your subordinate or junior speaking or teaching, there should be something in it for you to learn.
Make that commitment to always #WriteItDown today.
You run well because you wrote the vision down.

#Audacious
God bless you
The curtain fall here today, thank you for being a part of today's broadcast, we hope you have been inspired.

Don't forget to always #WriteItDown, don't just commit it to memory.

#Audacious... For your peak performance daily.
