What are you thankful for???

It ain't about the weight of things done to you or how enormous they are, it is about our heart of appreciation.

I found out that there are two different ways people view #Thanksgiving. A lot fall into the category of thanking when all is on the positive, for example, when they buy a car, build a house, delivered of a baby, get promoted etc.

The other category give thanks even when situations ain't good. When diagnosed with malaria, they'll be like, "thank God it's not typhoid or HIV". When they are robbed at gunpoint, they'll be like, "thank God my life is not taken"

Some of them will even thank God for making them one that can be stolen from. They count themselves blessed to have people want what they possess.

These set of people give thanks to God for what some call ridiculous.

When they are sacked at work, they can be like, "Thank God I even had work I was sacked at, some never had one. Thank God I can by myself read my own sack letter, it's not read to me. Thank God I walked out by myself, I wasn't carried"

They will remind themselves of all they have learned and achieved in that organisation, they will look at the challenges they were able to surmount and all the experience they've garnered and just give God thanks.

If you look well, you will always find that there is always something to be thankful for.

However, there is this other set of people who really see no reason to thank, they complain all through the year about how things didn't work (Well, that's the reason things never worked - Complain)

They ask God why He will let it happen when they lose their job. These people will never see a reason to thank God except for near misses.

When they get some success in career, business etc, they ascribe it to their brilliance & smartness, hence, they got no reason to be grateful to God.
(For people in this category, what they have will never be enough let alone overflow)

Why do we always forget to thank God for the littlest things.
The air we breathe in is costly, it's a major sustenance of life, yet we don't thank for that.
Ask people who's been on life support, they'll tell you how priceless it is.

Thank God for sound mind and functional brain. I personally have been thanking God for sanity lately, I went through stuffs that should make me lose it, but I didn't lose it, I got sanity.

That cloth fit you well because you have a healthy body. Thank God for that body.
When you look around you, you will see the goodness of God. Don't wait until you are told to thank, make it your culture.

Look wholistically into the year and you will discover that there are some things praiseworthy, even in the bitter experiences you had.
There is always a bitter ingredient in a sweet substance. Thank God in all.

When you lose your job, got kicked out from your apartment or school.... Thank God in it. Yes it's a bitter experience, but there's still something worth thanking for.
