i need to air some @ups grievances: on wednesday (and thursday, and friday, and saturday, and today) an expected parcel was marked "out for delivery". only today, did they update the tracking with "address incomplete". i called and learned all of the info was already correct.
the first time it was marked "out for delivery" and they didn't show up, i asked them to just hold the package so that i could pick it up at my leisure; they told me the shipper indicated that that's not allowed...what? why? don't i still ID and a signature to pick up anyways?
so ups made my wait for a package, which a csr indicated to me could arrive at any time between 8am and as late as 10pm during the time leading up to the winter holiday season. five days they said it was "out for delivery" without ever making any attempt to interact with me
every day the package didn't show up, i called ups, and re-verified my delivery address, unit number, and buzz code, none of which have changed in the years i've lived here; how the hell did i finally get "address incomplete" the FIFTH DAY they put the package out for delivery???
probably also worth noting that the shipper sent me two packages from the same address and one arrived the first day it was marked "out for delivery"; i fully expected the driver to hand me both packages at the same time, but he claimed the one was all he had for me.
so, five days, with 14 hours windows where i had to be on call to a fucking courier service so that i could receive something that rightfully belongs to me. hey @ups, are you aware that no one has ever taken up 70 hours of my time within the span of a week in my god damned life?
AHAHAHAHA. after several phone calls with @ups customer service, and more empty promises of all of my information being correctly reflected in the delivery documentation, i just got a text message saying my delivery driver missed me! that's funny, i never heard a fucking ring
i literally bitched to five different CSRs about how my local delivery drivers never bother to ring when they "attempt delivery" and got a "special callback" from my "local fulfillment centre" full of insincere apologies, assuring me they'd reattempt delivery today
this "special previously unscheduled delivery attempt" happened about 45 minutes ago, and the driver did the exact same fucking thing. showed up, didn't bother trying to contact me in any capacity, and left a note trying to put the onus on me, as if i had somehow ignored them
i actually tried to contact @ups about blacklisting my address so that no one would be allowed to try to ship a package to me via ups but apparently all that does is let a package get to my local centre before being SHIPPED BACK TO THE ORIGINAL SENDER
isn't it fucking wild that @ups' infrastructure will let you waste their people's time, resources, and space, for absolutely no reason, but not let senders know that certain addresses are undeliverable?
