There are upgrades ongoing at a number of Federal Hospitals across 🇳🇬. I’m told Nat. Hospital Abuja has a new Cancer Treatment Center, w/ 2 Linear Accelerators(LINAC) installed. Another one under construction in LUTH.
LUTH also has a new Blood Bank & Acute Stroke Care Centre.
There are some things you read & sigh:

“brand new radiotherapy machine was actually purchased and supplied in 2013, but it was left uninstalled [because of] hospital’s inability to construct a bunker where the machine would be installed.” punchng.com/national-hospi…

You buy an expensive cancer machine but you somehow don’t make the effort to install it. You abandon 800 containers of transmission equipment at the Ports, some for as much as 15 years.

I'm sharing this story to give hope to someone out there who might be going through life threatening situations or is trying to give up on life.
Today, I'm one year Post-Cancer free & I'm very much happy God saw me through when I was faced with a life threatening sickness.
The year 2017 was a horrible year for me & my family. It all started in April when my right leg started swelling towards the end of 2nd term at the Nigerian Law School Abuja. Immediately we vacated, I traveled to UNTH Enugu for surgery thinking it would be something of 2/3 weeks.
At UNTH Enugu, I spent 7wks where I did series of scan and incision biopsy. When the result of the biopsy came out after several weeks, I was told that it was Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma(NHL) that I would do Immunohistochemistry to confirm the class of NHL but they don't have d machine

My oxygen machine just shut off and sent out a long beep and now I am somewhat panicked about not having air.
I called the medical equipment company, but it's a long time till morning when they come and bring another one.
I have two tanks = 6hrs.
#chronicillness is so terrible.
And the people who are on call are not very nice.
They always seem very put-out that you need to be able to breathe.
So The Wife just called--she teaches in another state on Wednesdays. She said yes, we do have several oxygen tanks at the office, which she will pick up on the way home. And one of my doc friends on here sent me a fix-it vid for her for when she gets home to check the machine.
