Why should the EU reopen talks if the PM can't get it through Parliament? The UK Gov turning down the Oct deal, pursuing the Nov deal, then defeated, would suggest the PM and negotiators in fact have no idea what realistic deal would pass Parliament
Of course a Parliament majority for something, anything, could potentially put pressure on the EU. But this is what the PM and Number 10 operation have consistently failed to understand, that Parliament should actually be useful in negotiations
Together with the continued attempt to treat us all like 5 year olds in communicating the deal, negotiating incompetence is why the Government deserves to lose the Brexit vote heavily. I hope some grown up MPs are then ready for the salvage operation.
