As we wrote, the Trump administration faces the troubling reality that there is no easy way to stop Iran from taking Americans prisoner, a tactic the Islamic Republic has used since 1979.
Trump made a bold promise when running for office: that Iran won't take prisoners if he is president. He didn't deliver. At least one US citizen (Morad Tahbaz) has been imprisoned since Trump took office, and several others imprisoned during the Obama admin are still in jail
Of course, Americans aren't the only targets of arrests by Iranian authorities. @bozorgmehr revealed last year that Iran's Revolutionary Guard had arrested at least 30 dual nationals - mostly Europeans - in two years, twice as many as was previously known reuters.com/article/us-ira…
