So let's talk about this a little. Because last week, David Attenborough was at the climate talks, telling government leaders that the people of the world are willing to make sacrifices and want change. And you have polls like this. And yet ...
Climate change and environmental issues are not what Americans vote on. I mean it's one of the things. But it's like 10th on the list.…
And that's averaged between right and left. There have been polls for YEARS showing Republican voters support alternative energy and want to see various kinds of action on climate change. But it's not how they're voting.
And let's be real: It's not like the stuff that's getting prioritized over the environment in voter choice is frivolous crap. There's just a lot of things to prioritize and, oh look, humans are prioritizing the short-term impact things more. Shocker, y'all.
Uh. That may be all I have to say about this right now. I'm still drinking my first coffee. But seriously, it's great that people say climate change matters in polls. It's just not, like, indicative that they're willing to do anything about it for real-real.
