Restoration of full ordination of nuns in Tibetan Buddhism seems right both as equity and pragmatism: helpful in preserving an endangered religion.

But: slightly irritating this ignores the long-standing full ordination of women as tantrikas (ngakmas).

According to scripture & tradition, women are inherently inferior practitioners of sutrayana, but inherently superior in tantrayana.

Sutrayana, the path of renunciation, ordains monks and nuns.

Tantrayana, the path of transformation, ordains ♀ ngakmas & ♂ ngakpas.

Scripture & tradition often lie. However, there’s unambiguous documentation of ngakmas going back at minimum decades before attempts began to revitalize the bhikshuni (full nun) ordination.
