2) It was Millers own select committee that pushed GRA reform back in 2015. She is now realising what a hugely unpopular and unworkable policy idea this has been. It's bad law that's bad for women & does nothing to make the lives of trans people better. thetimes.co.uk/article/how-do…
3) This crack pot idea should have been squashed back in 2015. It was not thought through and women's concerns were actively ignored by the @WomenEqualities committee. Lessons must be learned from the mishandling of trans issues by the government.
4) Powerful transgender lobby groups have been allowed to dictate their agenda UNCHALLENGED. This has created the problems we are now having to clear up. Teachers telling kids that boys can have period and girls can have a penis means children don't understand their own bodies.
5) Its become politically incorrect to ask about sex. We have men saying they are women & registering as FEMALE with their GP & getting invited for smear tests. Female born trans ppl miss out bc they are registered as MALE. Easily solved by registering sex not gender identity
6) Teenage girls wanting to be boys getting sex hormones off the internet and making themselves infertile. Boys taking HRT and losing sexual function. All this is storing up a huge burden on the NHS for future fertility treatment and life long medication.
7) We know there has been a huge rise in mental health problems in the young generation but its not being explored if a child says they are trans. All because we aren't allowed to consider gender dysphoria as a mental health issue. We are letting kids down and storing up problems
8) We hope that @PennyMordaunt and @theresa_may listens to @MariaMillerUK and shifts focus away from GRA reform. This is great news for women and great news for people suffering from gender dysphoria. Its important people in distress & discomfort get the health support they need.
9) This time we must have a sensible and open debate. We must never again be held hostage by gender extremists like @stonewalluk shouting NO DEBATE. Limited resources and an overstretched NHS means society needs to prioritise. We must all have a voice this time.
10) Should the NHS pay for middle-aged men to have facial hair removal so they can 'pass' better as women? If you think no you must be allowed to say without being condemned as transphobic. Disagreeing with a trans person is not transphobic. Its simply disagreeing with someone.
11) Stifling common sense debate has caused the mess we are now in. We hope that 2019 heralds a shift away from ideology towards real-life practical solutions that are right for everyone in society. Sex matters. Common sense matters. Open debate matters.
