#BREAKING >> Feds Charge Natalia Veselnitskaya—Russian Lawyer at 2016 Trump Tower Meeting—In Money Laundering Case That Shows Kremlin Ties nytimes.com/2019/01/08/nyr…
SDNY charged Veselnitskaya with obstruction of justice (making "misleading declaration") in the Prevezon case involving money-laundering fraud Sergei Magnitsky discovered involved Russian govt officials. (Sorry, Putin. Magnitsky sanctions are here to stay)
“Russian Attorney Natalya Veselnitskaya is now a wanted person in the U.S. for intentionally misleading US investigators, regarding Prevezon Holdings’ role in the $230 million dollar tax fraud scheme perpetrated by a criminal organization that included…corrupt Russian officials"
"This investigation brought to light how Veselnitskaya secretly schemed with a senior Russian prosecutor to provide false information to U.S. law enforcement in an attempt to influence the legal proceedings in the Southern District of New York." justice.gov/usao-sdny/pr/r…
Trump-Putin trolls will quickly say BUT BUT BUT Veselnitskaya isn't charged in the Russia probe. But these familiar themes should make Mueller targets very nervous: Russian money-laundering in NY real estate, Russian govt officials, Magnitsky (sanctions), obstruction of justice…
Veselnitskaya indictment shows how the Kremlin and criminals link up in devious ways, giving the facade they play by the rules, but in fact lie, cheat, steal to get away w/ as much as possible. The legal/justice system—in Russia & elsewhere—is there to serve their corrupt goals.
