Vasek Pospisil's math is deeply sexist. Total tourney revenue is generated by both the men and the women. Vasek is pretending the women don't generate any of the tourney's revenue. Given that these guys support Gimel and Stakhs, the sexism and attendant blindness is no surprise.
This may be drivel, but it's still useful insight into the overwhelming sexism at the core of the @ATP_Tour. (On the subject of GS revenue splits, the @WTA seems totally disengaged, its players at risk of being left behind. Leadership: needed.)
@ATP_Tour @WTA If you love tennis, and especially the @WTA, please RT this thread. There's little reason to expect the tennis media -- esp the Gimel-associated tennis media -- to cover this correctly or well.

Everyday, women around the world face different forms of oppression and harassment for simply being women. From being catcalled by men on the street to possibly being physically ....

You may not think catcalling and heinous acts of sexual violence are related, but they actually have more in common than meets the eye. Both behaviours are connected by sexual objectification.
Men tend to treat women as a mere object of sexual desire without regard to their personality or dignity and this act is akin to dehumanizing and it is unacceptable.

Fun fact: the deficit would be shockingly close to zero today with Clinton-era tax levels.
Back when we had a surplus in 2000, federal revenues were ~20% of GDP.
In 2018, feds spent ~20.3% of GDP
Deficit would have been ~0.3% GDP w/Clinton-2000-era tax $
=*<$100 billion deficit.*
After a succession of tax cuts, revenue has dropped to 16.5% GDP.
Deficit? $779 billion.
2000 arguably an anomaly - top of dotcom boom, etc
But tax cuts as scored by CBO are big part of deficit: Fiscal Cliff deal which extended most of the Bush tax cuts scored as ~$400B deficit for fiscal 2018 alone.
Trump tax law scored as $135B cut in '18; $280B in '19

@NPR interviewed them both.
Guess which segment got cut?

The day before the interview was to run, @NPR let the woman know--in an email--that because of "the way the segment worked out," only the man's quotes would be used.
In that segment the woman's name was never mentioned at all.
No mention the book was co-authored.
None.
Silke-Maria Weineck, a professor at UMich at Ann Arbor, deserved to have full credit for her work on @NPR’s “All Things Considered,” in the segment with journalist Anders Kelto.

But why didn't her co-author mention her name? (Which I am deliberately erasing here for balance.)

I'm generally fatigued, to put it lightly, w/ people on this website telling women where to direct their time, energy, passion. Or when to be angry. Or what the most "productive" thing to do is. Either you want to listen to us or you don't. But you don't get to boss us around.
And, yes, I'm on the receiving end of this quite a bit--typically from white men.

Black women have to deal w/ this nonsense exponentially more often. Why?

Because *both* white men AND white women think it's their role to direct black women's voices.
I've also seen black men have to deal w/ this bullshit from white men.

Almost entirely from self-proclaimed liberals/progressives/what-have-you.
