1) Why is Corbyn Pro #Brexit?
Because he wants to nationalise major industries, the so called "commanding heights", & needs Brexit, in particular hard Brexit, to do so

Which in turn means he's not at all bothered about economic hardship following that hard Brexit

2) I wrote this Blog 2 years ago and it was ridiculed at the time by Corbyn supporters who thought it was an unfounded smear attempt

Corbyn is a full blown Lexiter & always has been - and he needs full control of state subsidy outside of the EU to deliver democratic socialism which, as Blakeley points out, is state control of major industries

4) Corbyn's position is nothing new or fresh or innovative, it's simply a return to 1960s style socialism.

"Jobs first" #Brexit is simply "nationalise/subsidise everything after hard Brexit"

If you support him, this is what you're buying into, his (40 year old) vision

5) of course none of this has ever been debated, discussed in Labour conference or put into a Labour manifesto. But this is what is driving Corbyn, and his ultimate aim. Its what democratic socialism means & it's why Corbyn will never support ending or even softening #Brexit

6) However, if you're a momentum member/Labour supporter who's been trying to to persuade Corbyn to adopt a pro EU stance/2nd ref, you've been wasting your time, you are in a completely different political space to where he is, and to carry on supporting him needs the following:

7) Firstly, you're going to have to accept that democratically derived Labour policy is dead. This is Corbyn's siege economy socialism in one state vision alone, and any pretence of Labour conference setting policy is just for show, as was seen with the Labour #Brexit policy

8) you are buying into Corbyn's vision and whatever he decides is the path & priorities. He believes he knows the right direction & needs no input from members

9) you're also going to have to accept that this vision will never be voted for by the public so must be forced on them by stealth. Most likely this will not succeed & instead the Left will be discredited for a generation, but that's the risk.

10) You'll have to accept the years of disruption & major risks to the lives & security of those people you are supposed to care most about, as this hugely risky pivot of the economy to a planned one takes place

11) finally you can forget climate change, refugee crisis, conservation, tax havens & any other global issues you may care about, the UK will be too distracted

12) there's a whole set of compromises you'll have to accept to be a Corbyn supporter but honestly, you may as well try to change the mind of Rees Mogg on the EU, Corbyn is fundamentally on a different political planet
