There is absolutely no national security justification to lifting sanctions on Deripaska, no benefit whatsoever to the US and considerable risk associated with condoning his behavior, support for Kremlin crimes against the US.
The only reason to do this, therefore, are the self-interests of the President, those close to him, GOP Senators or GOP supporters like the NRA. This stinks to heaven. Literally the only conceivable justification for it is corruption. Don't let this one slide by.
This is outrageous and it is time someone opened up an investigation into the Russia caucus on the Hill, led by McConnell and the likes of Nunes (and former Rep. Rohrabacher), the NRA, and the U.S. legislators who spent last July 4th in Moscow.
Who will do it? Who will step up? Who will expose the money connections deep within the GOP and far beyond Trump (but including him) with Russia? Who will expose how those ties compromised these men and women and led them to betray their country.
Today's seemingly innocuous vote that many Americans ignore should be a call to arms.
