David Corn is pushing back on insinuations that James Baker was a source for him regarding his dossier reporting. A couple of points: motherjones.com/politics/2019/…
There's no reason to doubt Corn's specific denial. Instead, Corn's initial Oct. 31, 2016 report used StateDept official Jonathan Winer as a confirming source. Winer was in contact w/ Steele, FBI and Glenn Simpson.
Oddly, Corn also provided a copy of the dossier to Baker *after* his report came out. Corn says it was in hopes of getting someone at FBI to talk. He says they didn't. But can't figure out why Corn would need to give FBI a document it already had.
Corn's wording suggests that though Baker wasn't a Russia source for him, he might have been a source for other stories.
