Still early days for Nancy Pelosi. She has time to come up the learning curve. This time she's all alone. Schumer is a useless wimp, and can't help her much. Playing mindless hardball (like she was able to when Obama was watching her back) won't do.

2. Nancy Pelosi is not charismatic. She can't give stirring speeches to move the nation. This time she is not just involved in twisting arms and using committee assignment bribes/punishments to bend her members to her will. She is up against Donald Trump.
3. She needs to be nimble and leave herself room to maneuver. Making hardcoded statements like "Walls are immoral" is a novice mistake. Thinking she can stare down Trump simply because the mainstream media is in the tank for her is also a novice mistake.
4. Reeds that don't bend break. Negotiate a compromise or you will go down and take the party with you. There are no permanent defeats in politics, just as there are no permanent victories. Rolling with the punches and improvising is the name of the game. Learn it.

See what I mean. Pelosi shouldn't expect to be spoiled like she was under Obama. And to think she was using luxuriously appointed military planes to haul family members when the whole nation was barely coming out of The Great Recession.
