Giuliani's already dismissing the bombshell that Trump directed Cohen to lie to Congress by arguing Cohen's not credible. But Cohen's credibility here is irrelevant b/c Mueller had documentary evidence from people inside the Trump Org BEFORE SCO prosecutors interviewed Cohen. 👇
"Trump was even made aware that Cohen was speaking to Russian government officials about the deal." THIS is important b/c it adds to the picture that Trump was intimately involved in Russia matters. And makes it more likely he also knew of the Trump Tower meeting w/ Russians.
And he called Hillary 'crooked'… While Trump was vehemently denying ANY business interests in Russia, he was secretly pushing a Moscow project hoping to net $300,000,000. He had at least 10 face-to-face meetings w/ Cohen on it—during the campaign, per 2 law enforcement sources.

On the plus side, Trump may be less likely to attack and try to kneecap the Mueller probe. It could actually buy the Russia investigation some time.
Interesting that Trump is RT'ing people calling Buzzfeed "fake news," but he's not tweeting it himself. Is it because the core of the story—that he told Cohen to lie—is actually correct? And he doesn't want to make an explicit false statement about it b/c Mueller's watching?
For some perspective, also this week: Manafort collusion with Russian operative, FBI opened CI on Trump, NATO withdrawal threat, Trump concealed convos with Putin, he rigged online polls. In the end, even if Buzzfeed story didn't exist, Trump is in deep legal & political jeopardy
Buzzfeed story may have inaccurate characterizations, but core may be right. Even Mueller sentencing filing states that Cohen provided helpful information re contacts w/ WH AND the circumstances of preparing Cohen's false congressional testimony. He was coached. See👇@gtconway3d
