After its vicious attacks on @marclamonthill and Angela Davis, the Israeli apartheid lobby comes for New Jim Crow author Michelle Alexander. The goal: to intimidate and bully Black intellectuals and activists into silence over Israel's horrific crimes against Palestinians.
What's unique about Israel's regime of apartheid is not just how brutal, murderous, dehumanizing and racist it is against Palestinians, but how in the "West" elites try to bully everyone into celebrating it as a paragon of "democracy" and "shared values." The con is breaking down
The Western empire supports many other brutal regimes in addition to Israel, for example Saudi Arabia and Sisi. But in no other case that I can think of are publics constantly propagandized about how these butcher regimes are in fact "democratic" paragons of "western values."

As Zionism has lost support and legitimacy, its defenders’ tactics have shifted.

A few years ago they would claim: ‘your criticism of Israel may be motivated by anti-Semitism.”

Now it’s blatantly: ‘any and all criticism of Israel is inherently and by definition anti-Semitic’
Zionism as a racist ideology, and Israel as its brutal and genocidal implementation, cannot be defended on humanist grounds, so only defensive strategy is to ever more aggressively recast the perpetrators as victims of anti-Semitic bias and the victims as deserving to suffer.
Zionism, like all settler-colonial ideologies, recasts the settler-invaders as victims of persecution for whom conquering and subjugating others is divine redemption. It's very similar to Afrikanerdom in South Africa and Unionism in Northern Ireland.

Israeli leadership supports Trump and his fascists, just like they support fascist far right in Europe, because they believe this is Good for Israel. But American Jews, especially young, increasingly understand that what's deemed Good for Israel is Bad for Jews and humanity,
The type of US that can sustain Jewish, Muslim, indigenous, Latino, Black, LGBTQ+ life, and just a society in all its diversity, is not a US that would support white supremacy, imperialism and fascist Israel. It's a stark reality and a circle that can't be squared.

I’m not surprised that an inclusive, race conscious (not colorblind) Black Conservative, like #TimScott could see right through what his “colorblind” Senate colleagues couldn’t! The judge’s writings sound eerily familiar, so familiar to alt right talking points on gender & race.
And if you look at the publication that the Judge wrote for “The Stanford Review”, whose founder is Peter Theil, it gets even weirder. Why? Because it’s been alleged that Peter Theil (a gay billionaire) has always had major problems with diversity — he even wrote a book on it.
Peter Theil wasn’t born in America; he was born In Germany, and then he later lived in South Africa 🇿🇦. In college one of Thiel’s African American doormats said “One day I heard a rumor that Peter defended #apartheid (which was then still the law of the land in #SouthAfrica)

Had no idea that there were so many Michelle Alexander dissenters on the left. Two things: Making her responsible for her U.S. attorney husband’s inaction on the John Crawford III shooting case is asinine and sexist. Canceling her over one critical Hillary column is also foolish.
If people like Michelle Alexander are simply going to be invalidated in the economy of ideas because of an opinion that proved to be wrong or one that made people uncomfortable, well, shit, we should all just quit. I also have disagreed with her in the past, but come on, folks.
