Ooh!
1/ Hmm... on a skim I'm not sure about this decision though equally don't think the Court of Appeal is likely to overturn it. Here's the basic facts. It's about the refusal to allow the erection of a four-inch raised marble edging around a prominent imam's grave 
2/ This is the bit I'm just not sure about - does the 'lawn principle' sounds a bit like 'we don't want your garish, exotic graves in our lovely cemetery'..?'
3/ "inhibit lawn maintenance and upset the uniformity and equality of appearance..."
4/ Here's the conclusion, which is basically 'the interference isn't so severe that we are going to interfere with this decision which is within the margin which a public authority has to made difficult calls on freedom of religion'

6/ Interested to hear people's views. These cases aren't easy and this comes off the back of a very strong rebuke to a coroner in a decision which involved one of the judges, Lord Justice Singh, so it's not as if they always go the way of the public authority
