When you dig into some MPs' educational backgrounds, it's clearly impossible that they're really as dim as they seem.
And that's when things get really scary, because by implication they are capable of understanding the real Brexit situation, yet choose to wreck the UK anyway.

Of course, intelligence has never been the same as wisdom, nor is an "elite" university background an indication of character, and certainly not of merit. But it does show they were capable - once.
Now, I know this tees up the temptation for a slew of "dumb MP" jokes, but I meant my point seriously. You don't get to Cambridge or Oxford or Harvard or the Sorbonne by being thick.
