Last month, two people, Keith Kosirog & Adonus Encinias, died by suicide in the same New Mexico prison.
Both were being held in solitary confinement, which New Mexico uses at one of the highest rates in the nation & which the UN regards as torture.

This was a state prison, although Mr. Kosirog had been transferred from county jail where he was being held on bail pre-trial.

People are dying by suicide in state prisons across the county.

I tweet about people dying by suicide in jails and prisons a lot - that's because people are dying by suicide in jail and prison in this country all the time and it feels it would be unconscionable to stay silent.
